Perfume Portrait #26 – Jake Harries 50ml EDT

P1030610

Head – Basil, Sweet Birch, Petitgrain, Red Thyme

Heart – Fennel Seed, Black Pepper, Ginger

Body – Dill Weed, Sandalwood, Birch Tar, Myrrh

Description

Responding primarily to the work of Chakk, – a Sheffield based industrial funk band – this fragrance is perched on the axis between restriction and liberation, as the work of Chakk appears to describe personal endeavour met by a brutal and industrialised sense of resistance.

As such, we see crisp, sweet woody notes shackled by the thick, syrupy textures of birch tar, dill weed and myrrh. Emotional depth and a sense of clarity is added by black pepper and ginger, affording mediation and structure to the opposing forces while symbolising the personal aptitudes derived from creativity.

This fragrance was created by interpreting and investigating a response to the question ‘Why do you make art?’ If you are an artist (in the broadest sense of the word) I would love to hear your response to the question too, as it will enable me to create a perfume portrait that captures the essence of your creative persona.
