Perfume as Practice SS16
Perfume as Practice SS16 housed 25 unique and varied perfume portraits at Bank Street Arts, Sheffield, from 3rd-18th March 2016. Each fragrance served as a portrait of another artist based on their response to the question ‘Why do you make art?’
Each bottle comprised 14 drops of each essential oil note in a 48ml alcohol and spring water carrier. Each bottle was visually embellished, further extending the notion that each perfume served as a portrait capturing the unique personas of artists. Further visual elements also existed within the space. Describing and enhancing the collection. As this was my first collection, the theme simply alluded to the fact that I was initiating my concern with perfume, scent and portraiture:
