Join me for a private viewing of my exhibition at Bank Street Arts – named Perfume as Practice – on Friday 4th March, 6-8pm.
The exhibition speculates upon a world where scent is the primary means of communicating, and uses perfume as a platform for making portraiture.
25 perfumes will be on display in a space that emulates a perfumery. Each perfume is a portrait of another artist, which I have created through posing the question ‘Why do you make art?’ and using the responses I have received to make perfumes that attempt to capture the essence of who each artist is.
Each perfume is unique, varied and highly personal, yet will allow a degree of interpretation – just as a painted or sculpted portrait would.
On the evening I will be on hand to answer any questions – or just to have a chat to! And Bank Street Arts will provide a bar.
As well as this private view, this exhibition will run from 2nd – 18th March and will also include perfume drop-in perfume making workshops every Wednesday and Saturday from 12-4pm.
You can find out more on my Facebook events page here.
I hope you can make it for a fun, intriguing and highly scented evening! 🙂
