I'm pleased to announce that I've started a new art project that fuses soap making, poetry and the coronavirus pandemic. And I need your help!
'Cleanse.' will see me making soap by hand, then carving poetry into it influenced by your experiences of the coronavirus pandemic. I will hold an exhibition of these soaps at Fronteer Gallery, Sheffield, later in 2021
'Cleanse.' will aim to provide thoughtful documentation of coronavirus experiences while highlighting the artistic qualities of scent and soap making. I have chosen to use soap as it's temporary nature reflects the temporary nature of pandemics, offering a symbol of hope.
In order to begin I need to gather your experiences of the coronavirus pandemic. So if you have any experiences to share please send them to me by filling out the form below. I'm looking for a range of experiences so feel free to offer me anything. Also, feel free to write as much or as little as you like. I will work to create a poem for each participant.
The experiences you provide will influence a 4-line poem, which I will carve onto a soap. I will let you know when the poem and carving is complete, and when I have a confirmed exhibition date.
Thank you. I'd love to hear from you. Please find the form below. (Please note that I have asked for your email in order to tell you when the poem is finished, and when the exhibition will take place. I will not use your details for any reason other than for this project.)
